Join our team as a project engineer to drive automation in biomass energy solutions

dato

We are looking for a dedicated Project Engineer to support automation and control systems in our biomass energy projects. In this role, you will contribute to the design and configuration of PLC/SCADA systems, assist with instrumentation and signal interfaces, and collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to ensure high-quality execution. The position offers a hands-on role in developing standard solutions and supporting commissioning activities—without holding overall responsibility for the automation scope

Project Engineer, Automation
Help us shape the future of green energy
Do you want to play a key role in the green energy transition – and help shape how future biomass plants are designed and built? At Dall Energy, we are combining innovation, engineering excellence, and climate ambition to deliver cleaner, smarter energy solutions.

Across Europe, the demand for sustainable energy is accelerating. Cities and utilities are looking for alternatives that are not just greener, but also smarter and more financially viable. That’s where Dall Energy makes a difference. We design and deliver Combined Heat and Power plants powered by our patented gasification technology – a solution that outperforms conventional systems in both efficiency and flexibility.

Our plants are built to run reliably across the entire load range while using low-grade, cost-effective biomass fuels. It’s a technology that opens up new possibilities for sustainable energy – and sets the stage for ambitious engineers to contribute with practical, future-proof solutions.

We’re growing fast, and we’re now looking for an Automation Engineer to join our project team in Hørsholm. You’ll be responsible for specifying, designing, and delivering control and automation solutions across our energy plants – from early design to commissioning.

What you’ll be working on

You will work with design and implementation of control systems for complex process plants – from developing functional descriptions and PID-based logic to programming assistance and documentation. You’ll collaborate with other engineering disciplines and contribute to the project team with your automation expertise.

Your main tasks and responsibilities include:

Design and implement control systems based on functional descriptions and P&IDs – including programming support and participation in FAT
Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support on site (limited travel expected)
Prepare technical specifications for automation equipment and coordinate with sub-suppliers
Contribute to standardization of components and development of documentation systems
Support timely delivery of documentation and share automation know-how across the department
What you bring to the table

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering with a focus on automation, control, or instrumentation. You bring at least 5 years of experience working with specification and implementation of control systems for process or power plants. You enjoy collaborating with others and take pride in bringing clarity and structure into complex systems.

You bring:

Solid background in automation, control, and instrumentation – including experience specifying Control systems and developing control logic
Practical experience from power or process plants is a clear advantage, as is the ability to stay calm, constructive, and positive – even when things get busy
Fluency in English is required; Danish and French are considered valuable additions
What it’s like to work with us

At Dall Energy, your expertise doesn’t disappear into a large matrix – it shapes real outcomes. We rely on your experience and professional assessment to help us build not just plants, but the way we work. As part of a small and highly skilled team, you’ll take on broad responsibilities and help define technical solutions, supplier collaborations, and internal standards in your area.

You’ll be involved in projects from early concept to commissioning and beyond – and your input will influence decisions, not just deliverables. We’re growing, and that growth depends on people like you: professionals who want to take ownership, make improvements, and contribute to how we develop as a company.

Where you'll work

Your workplace will be at our office in Hørsholm. Travel to suppliers, construction sites, and operating plants in Denmark and France should be expected – typically around 20–40 travel days per year.
