Freelance English-to-Polish translator for e-commerce
Legeakademiet/Toyacademy is looking for a freelance translator with professional experience to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translations of our texts from English to Polish prior to launch of the new Polish Toyacademy web shop.
We sell educational toys that help children develop through play. The relationship with our customers is our top priority, and we are established in 6 countries as a trustworthy and authentic source of inspiration and information in the business of educational toys and children’s development in general.
Our mission is to inspire more families internationally, and we need your expertise in translation and localization to establish and continuously strengthen our presence in the Polish market.
About the position
Translate and localize web shop content, newsletters, product texts, and campaign materials. Mainly proofreading AI-translations but expect a fair share of human translation as well as AI-translation and localization tasks.
Ensure tone of voice and terminology are consistent and appropriate for the Polish audience.
Collaborate with our content- and marketing team to adapt campaigns and messaging for Poland. You need to be curious and thrive with investigating e.g. local laws, trends and institutional infrastructure.
Provide relevant input on cultural preferences, seasonal trends, and customer behaviour.
Support the team with proofreading and quality assurance of Polish content.
Part-time freelance position with flexible remote work (occasional office visits required).
Requirements for the position
Professional experience in English-to-Polish translation. Please include documentation for your previous professional experience in your application.
Native Polish speaker with excellent English skills.
Open to constructive and ongoing feedback and collaboration both IRL and online.
Proficiency in AI-translation tools and online workflows.
Available for at least 15 hours per week. We can offer up to 30 hours per week pre-launch and less after that.
Bonus skills (not required, but nice to have):
Experience with digital marketing and social media in Poland.
Knowledge of e-commerce and online sales strategies in the Polish market.
Familiarity with CMS systems.
